Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the 45 charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
