Renowned Actor The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his family said in a statement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his parents and siblings.
