The Blue Jays Secure World Series Meeting Versus the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Astros winning the championship in the 2017 season.

Toronto's Blue Jays earned a spot in their maiden World Series since 1993 by overcoming the Mariners in the final game seven of the AL Championship Series.

Behind three runs to one, outfielder George Springer delivered a three-run home run in the seventh, propelling the only Canadian franchise in Major League Baseball to a 4-3 series win in the series. Awaiting them are the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are the reigning title, in the upcoming championship.

"I'm just so happy for this squad, the city, our country," commented Springer, a key player of the Houston Astros team that secured the 2017 title. "This is such an unbelievable moment."

Springer has now hit 23 October home runs, making him third all-time after Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (27).

"I can't think of another person on planet Earth that I'd choose in that spot other than Springer with his playoff prowess," said Schneider.

Seattle, after leading the series 2-0 and 3-2, continue to be the one club never to appear in a Fall Classic.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson commented "there's no question that it's going to sting" in the wake of his side's defeat at their home ballpark, but commended their efforts this season.

"They're an exceptional squad. It's a shame that we finished on the losing end of this game," he continued.

The Blue Jays won the title on their two prior appearances in the early 90s, and will host the Dodgers in the first game on this Friday.
